Introduction to the General Services Association
The General Services Association (previously the National Control and Restraint General Services Association, NCGRSA) was founded in 1996. It is a membership organisation for individuals who are trained as Tutors and Senior Tutors in General Services Physical Intervention Skills, and provides Associate membership for those individuals and organisations that are connected to the prevention and safe management of aggression and violence.
The Association is multi-agency in its composition, with Tutors from a wide range of health, education and social care settings, in both the public, voluntary and private sector, and from a diverse mix of occupational backgrounds.
The Association aims to bring together its members to foster a national and international network of information, support and guidance whilst developing, influencing and promoting best practice in the prevention and management of aggression and violence.
Full membership, including access to corporate membership, is open to all those who have successfully completed a recognised General Services Tutor Training Course, and who hold a General Services Tutor certificate.
Associate membership is also available to those individuals who have not undertaken General Services Tutor Training. Copies of membership application forms and membership renewal forms are available to download below.
